Spotlight on Beryl Thompson
Beryl is proud to be serving her local community as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Crossroads Family Care in Palestine. She has 20 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse and has been a practicing Family Nurse Practitioner for the last 5 years.
She enjoys being able to care for the entire family from birth to adulthood all in one location. Her goal is for the patient and family to feel comfortable talking to her and working together as a team to not only treat illness and disease but striving to prevent these conditions. She actively believes in supporting and empowering her patients to take an active role in their medical care.
When she is not practicing medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Her hobbies include everything related to the grandchildren, reading, community theater, church activities and sharing her love of Christ.

TACHC Conference 2023
We had the distinct privilege of participating in the TACHC (Texas Association of Community Health Centers) conference, an event of great significance and impact. For the past four decades, Texas health centers have been at the forefront of transforming the lives of Texans and steering the course of our local communities, and this conference further underscored their invaluable role in our state’s healthcare landscape.
NACHC has awarded Crossroads Family Care ACE Silver Status!
Thanks to the hard work and continous dedication of our Director of Operations/Healthcare Programs, Rolando Reyes, The National Association of Comminuity Health Centers (NACHC) has awarded Crossroads Family Care the ACE Silver Status.
The ACE program recognizes ad rewards Community Health Centers that domenstrate excellence in formalizing their advocacy program to make it an institutional part of health center operations. As a Silver ACE, our health center serves as an embodiment of commitment to our community’s well-being and the advancement of quality healthcare.
Crossroads Family Care has not only met but exceeded the rigorous criteria set by NACHC for the ACE Silver Status. This achievement underscores our unwavering dedication to providing accessible, high-quality healthcare services to all members of our community.
Melissa Irizarry, Chief Financial Officer
Melissa Irizarry, Chief Financial Officer, will oversee the financial stability and manage our Financial Department. She brings 27 years of experience in Finance. She has worked for different industries such as hospitality, hospitals, clinics, dealerships, manufacturing, retail, etc. both private and not-for-profit businesses with budgets of $24M. Melissa Irizarry enjoys seeing companies thrive and grow financially. She has managed to help struggling businesses achieve their financial goals and become stable financially.
Melissa poses a Bachelor’s degree from Inter-Americana University of Puerto Rico in Business Administration and Accounting and is pursuing a Master’s Degree in accounting, she also has an Associate’s Degree in Theology. Melissa serves as Treasurer Administrator for her local church, is the founder and teacher of “Diamonds in The Rough”, a woman’s outreach program and served as coordinator and founder of Youth Camps for 12 years in Puerto Rico.
When asked what her biggest accomplishment she states, “It’s written in individuals that today serve their community with their talents, Youth Camp attendees become well-known artists and leaders in their communities nothing else fills my heart more than to see others thrive in their purpose, accomplishments are important but, to able to sow into someone, is priceless, I consider it my passion.”
Her philosophy is “Serve others as you would like to be served, customer service is important in all aspects of daily living.”
